I EV train all the time.

The first Pokémon I EV trained was Kyogre in Sapphire. At that time I wasn't doing it quite right, as I forgot to take IVs into account and kept wondering why I wasn't getting the proper stats.

The first pokemon I EV trained properly was probably Darmanitan. In the previous gen, I did some EV training but I didn't get perfect EVs, just good. I guess my Darmanitan was my first pokemon properly EV trained (it had a missing point, as I gave it 4 wings, then maxed Attack out and then speed, but that one point isn't going to make a big difference).

People that EV train seems to take the game seriously enough to really maximize their pokemon's potential. It's really boring frankly but the pay offs are good. Although I do have the patience for EV training, I can't really say the same with IV breeding. I can respect people that decide to do that over pokegening a pokemon, it takes real dedication.

I have.

The first pokemon I EV trained was an Alakazam in SoulSilver. I didn't really know about EV training until gen 4, and one of my friends who claimed to be really pro at the game wanted to start battling me.
I didn't even end up using him tho, I swept through his team with Feraligatr and Dragonite.

Eh, it's cool, I see why it's a thing, gives Pokemon some "character" but a new system should be implemented instead of just grinding down weak Pokemon.

I believe the first time I actually did EV training was in Platinum, pretty grindy, but cool none the less.

Don't know yet, trying it right now. I'll use this thread to ask a stupid question if you don't mind;

I'm trying to EV train Leafeon. It's the first time I'm trying this kind of thing, so I don't know much, but I know it can only evolve near a moss rock. Now none of the Pokemon in Black 2 near the moss rock give attack EP, and I want/need attack. Can I just use a rare candy near the rock, make Eevee evolve, and then go train somewhere else? Will it mess anything in the training/ep/growth?

Just fight anything, then remove the EVs with a berry. Or don't, since you'll always have 2 left over useless EVs you can affort to waste.

It's really time consuming. Sure I could spend hours on a legit EV Trained Poke, but why would I when I can just spend a minute or two in Pokesav/Gen?

Yes, I did. Quite a few times, and it was very tedious work.

After breeding for some good enough IV's on a Larvitar I went ahead and EV Trained it, I was off a few tallys, so all that work was for nothing

You can just use a Rare Candy. Evolution stat changes are unrelated to the effects EVs have.

Well the few times I tried it, I spent a lot of time breeding for good IV's and that in itself took a lot of time, not to mention I had to look up which pokemon gave out which EV's and go looking for those.

This was in HG, so it may be easier in B/W, idk.

My first was a Dragonite in SS. The EV's pretty much went where I wanted them, however I was much more ignorant to abilities, natures, and IV's then. The derpiness of my Dragonite and I are matched, for I EV'd him in speed with a 0 IV. No matter, because he does very well to help me train my new bros/girlbros in White 2.
