Dragon pokemon generally have really steep growth. I'd rather the first gym have a level 7 gible than the last having a level 50 grachomp. if anything they'd hold your hand through it like bw giving the elemental monkey to even it out or bw2 giving you riolu to fight cheren and magnemite and lucario to fight roxie

Even if that were to happen, the game would provide some early method of dealing with it. Snorunt, for instance. The game has never screwed you when it came to handling a gym, but not everyone has been smart enough to take advantage of what the game provides.

The levels at the first gym will be like 12-14 max, and it's not like first stage dragons are that powerful anyway. Unless they're all packing Outrage and Draco Meteor, spamming tackle with your starter will probably earn you an easy enough victory.

Actually as long as they are packing Dragon Rage they could be quite thertning.

At low levels Dragon Rage will either kill you in one-shot or at least bring you down to the red zone

With dragon rage, pretty damn hard. Possibly the hardest gym leader ever. That's a guaranteed OHKO or 2HKO for a Pokemon at first gym leader levels

Are you serious? I'm looking through most of my weaker Pokemon and it would 2HKO most of my level <23 Pokemon. Even fully evolved ones like leavanny. I'd imagine nearly every thing early game under 15 would be OHKO'd.

Fucking ridiculous for the first gym.
