Let's just assume that there is a new type coming and that Sylveon is of this new type. What would you like this type to accomplish? Strengths, weaknesses, resistances, immunities?
Please no arguing over whether or not there's sufficient evidence to support a new type.

I would like it to be a Dark and Dragon counter-type, because those types are ridiculous.

Assumed Type: Light/Fairy type.

Super Effective Against: Dark, Dragon, Ice(sunlight melting ice? That's how I see it), Ghost
Takes SE Damage From: Dark, Poison, Psychic(bending light? I don't know.)
Not Very Effective Against: Electric, Ground, Light.
Ineffective Against: Grass(plants use light for food. Just my thoughts.)

I don't think dragon is as broken as everyone says it is, so I don't think it needs immunity AND SE against it. Maybe just the latter. Weakness to ice would be nice. I don't much care for poison, but I suppose they could use a boost, at least in the form of resisting the new type. Maybe something against fighting and ground, the latter mostly because it feels like everyone can learn earthquake nowadays. Oh, and weak to bug. They've never been that great and could use a decent boost.

Also, new Status effects:

Fear - Pokemon affected by fear may not attack(like Paralysis.) Like Confusion, it isn't stated next to their health. Cannot be confused while Afraid, and vice-versa. If the Pokemon that inflicted the Fear switches out, it's lifted. There's a 40% chance for it to lift when your Pokemon deals damage to the Pokemon that inflicted fear.

Dazed: The Pokemon will attack a random Pokemon on the field. Isn't displayed, like Fear and Confusion, and Is overirded by Fear and Confusion, and vice-versa, vice-versa.

They should really take away Dragon's resistance to Electric at least. Doesn't make any sense to me. Also, Dragon should be SE against Bug. They're basically opposites.

How is Dark type ridiculous and/or overpowered? I can sorta understand Dragon but Dark seem hardly threatening with all the Fighting types around.

Yeah, but it's quite annoying that it resists the most common types. Not to mention most Dragon types are Uber and very strong, as well as sturdy.

Mainly because of Darkrai's bullshittery. Besides that, they are only weak to Fighting and Bug, so I feel like they need some more ways to fight them.

It's more that they usually make the pseudo legends dragon type, so monster stats with a typing that doesn't have much in the way of weaknesses. Altaria and Flygon are more balanced dragons, since their stats aren't utterly ridiculous.
Actually, that's one of the things I'd really like most in this gen: a pseudolegend that's anything other than dragon type.

Another one I mean, and no new dragon pseudos this time. We've had 3 gens in a row with dragon pseudos, though they at least gave us 2 in gen 3 so we could have a steel one too. And that's still 2/3rds of them as dragons.
It'd be nice to see a different type as a pseudo. Fire, poison, Ice, dark, bug, something; Just one they haven't used before.

I'm not really sure what they'll do with sylveon as far as stats. I feel like they've already got an eeveelution for every archetypical pokemon build. The quick speedster, the physical sweeper (lol no moves), the special sweeper, the wall, the tank with shitloads of HP, etc.

The pokebeach leak + ice resists the new type. Ice doesn't need to be super effective against a new type, they're already good offensively, it needs something to balance out this shit defensive matchups. And mainly I like the dragon immunity + poison weakness from the pokebeach leaks, stops outrage spam and makes poisons a little bit better.

I'd rather see GF play around with what they have than get the exact same things again. Besides, whatever it is, it'll have 600 BST. No matter what the typing, it'll still be better than most pokemon.

I like the weakness and resistances too, but I'm afraid that this new type will skyrocket to OU and it even seems a little overpowered like Dragon, or at least "powerful"

I don't think Fairy will be all that great defensively actually. Being immune to Dragon is still huge but, unless WPM left that part out somehow, it doesn't seem like Fairy has any resistances. That means that every type in the game except for one (Dragon) can hit it neutrally, just like Normal or Ice.

Like, I can say that grass resists ground. That doesn't mean it doesn't JUST resist ground and nothing else. You know, implicit vs explicit statements.
