The point is having them in a digital format on the actual Ds system with link capabilities. and with X and Y on the way there will most likely be an updated transfer function to go hand in hand with old title downloads.

If the Hoenn games are released, it would only be Emerald because that's the only one that would have a Union Room in it.

Ruby and Sapphire lacked it, which means it would be impossible to battle and trade with other 3DS Ruby/Sapphire players.

To expand on the "Time Travel" idea, what if there was a game (X/Y or later) that had a special house in the game with someone who had invented a Time/Space Machine.

You give him a special item (i.e. heart scale) to use it and it only works for a set time. But it sends you to previous games (RBYGS) with all of your current Pokemon to catch older Pokemon that aren't found in your current game.

The world would be absolutely the same and you would basically just be playing Red or Blue, but you would have your latest gen Pokemon with latest gen attacks and such.

Different items could send you to different generations or allow you to stay there longer.

Guys, what if they do DLC regions? Like, you can buy Kanto for XY, and then you can travel there and fight gym leaders like in GSC.

Why not just make it like a 10 dollar Remastered version on the 3DS shop, but you can transfer pokemon from the remastered version to X/Y?
That way, you could play the old games without the mounds of glitches, and transfer bros to newer games.
Natures, IVs(were IVs in gen 1?) and gender could be randomly assigned based on an Rng once they are transferred to a new game.
