I really don't get why everyone hates it, but I think it's just the bandwagon. No one can articulate why they don't like it without "muh bipedal to quadrapedal" as if that's a problem, or "muh pokemon based on one species going through a process of change and becoming a pokemon based on a different but related species" as if 50% of pokemon don't do that.
