The 3D models will be what they use from now on though, so that is what will probably be the current canon. Considering the recent D-Arts figure and Pokedex pro models are the same, it does seem like that is the current correct amount of toes.

A lot of Pokemon's appearances have changed gradually over time, its not that strange really.

That post says otherwise. This is absolutely stupid. The official art and the game sprites are not mutually exclusive, not even by your flipping game oriented logic. There were two arts made for the game, and the latter one is inconclusive since it's from behind. Can we include Dreamworld as part of the games? If so, then that should also be considered.
