They cast the perfect person for his voice. He sounds natural instead of fake like Mewtwo and Dream Entei, people can't agree whether it's masculine or feminine which fits a genderless deity, and the VA got the "pissed-off and gonna wreck your shit" inflections perfectly.

He sounded more like an angry nerd frustrated over getting killed online after 6 kills in shooting game. The whole natural voice and genderless thing is bull since a lot of non-gender Pokemon have a gendered voice.

Sounds incredibly stupid.

The only reason I can see for having a war over something so obvious is if you're a tumblrite who desperately wants Arceus to be female for "equality" or a very... meticulous Pokemon fan who will argue about anything just for the sake of it.

To be fair, most of the people saying Arceus sounded female said that he sounded like an old woman.

I remember when the movie was on Youtube. More than half of the comments were either voice arguments or people whining about Arcues not sounding like Darth Vader or anyone voiced by Dan Green.

He's the closest thing we have though. And in the end he ends up pretty weak and meh for a legendary. Mewtwo was more impressive. This movie if anything worsened Arceus' reputation.

Personally I like it, while most japanese animated cartoons and movies have benevolent sounding gods, pokemon on the other has a god who sounds like a genuine prick.

Yeah, he's so weak and meh that he curbstomped his three children for more than an hour without taking a hit. And that's while he was missing five of his Plates.

Back in the past he was minus all of the Plates that resisted Electric, which was why being zap-fried by a hundred+ Electric Pokemon hurt him. And he still toasted the temple and everything in it and left.
