Havent played a pokemon since Emerald, want to get back into the series and am really hyped for X an Y. I want to get my Emerald pokemon into X and Y eventually, can I transfer them to Pokemon Black? Also is Pokemon Black/White worth playing or should I just wait until the new one comes out

If you wanted you could transfer from emerald to Diamond/Pearl/Platinum and then into Black/White and then hopefully into X/Y even

A place you can access post-game where you can transfer Pokemon from a 3rd gen game inserted into the GBA slot on the DS. It's kind of like a safari zone but the capture rate is always 100%

For Black, you have to beat the game. I think you can access it earlier in Black 2/White 2.
It works whenever in SoulSilver, as long as you have six Pokemon to transfer.
