I have not found a random wild shiny since the end of gen 3..

for those who get shinies somewhat regularly, what are you usually doing when you find them? level grinding? EV training? searching for a specific pokemon? or just completely random while doing a playthrough?

I want fun and useful ways of going through lots of encounters. I'm guessing I just need to do more playthroughs, but I hate erasing files
