>>12445053That's a good discussion really. We always talk shit but I think the most constructive way to have a design discussion is just that.
Personally I dislike overly humanoid pokemon, especially with clothes.
I prefer pokemon that are based on animals, a combination of similar species of animals, or translatable mythological creatures that may have some sort of additional twist in the design that exaggerates a feature of the creature or attaches some sort of clever attribute that your brain may already relate to that creature/mythos
-I like subtly when it can be employed and simplicity as a default
-Pokemon can have complexity IMO but not arbitrarily
-I like color schemes that aren't so "high contrast" when it doesn't really make sense for the pokemon (for instance, a poison typed dart frog lends itself to vibrant high contrast colors) whereas a grey wolf may not necessarily need it and may look silly with it.
-I don't like power creep
-I like my legendaries natural, mystical looking, as if to nod off to nature
-I don't like my legendaries to be so religiously based
-I like both masculine and feminine pokemon as nature is both masculine and feminine but I don't appreciate grimdark edgy or overly kawaii prissy in my pokemanz
