I find that I'm not into the new games anymore. In fact, I can't say I've greatly enjoyed a pokemon game since I played Gens I and II all those years ago.
Call me "nostalgic" or whatever, but I've played at least one game from each gen up until Black 2 and White 2. At that point I just wasn't having fun anymore, so I skipped B2&W2. I know that the new games are technically superior in every way, and B2W2 looked like a graphical marvel compared to every game that came before it (for the DS anyway).
Can somebody please explain what is going on here? Why has my enjoyment of the new installments been gradually lessening? Apart from the fact that most of the Pokemon in the newer gens (and ESPECIALLY the legendaries and starters) seem lacking aesthetically in my opinion, I can't really put my finger on why I no longer enjoy the games. Online trading and battles was cool at first, but I still find myself missing the days where everyone in the neighborhood had a link cable, despite how obviously inconvenient that was.
Am I just nostalgic or does anyone else here have an opinion as to why Gen I and II were better?
