Why do people like this Pokemon so much?

I mean, do they really like it, or is this some shitty genwunner/casualfag thing?

I mean, his stats are decent at best, but easily bested by other Pokemon. And not to mention, he has a 4x Weakness to Electric, and most people carry some Electric cover move or even an Electric Pokemon on their team.

I can't honestly be the only one out there that just really doesn't like Gyarados?

Also, what are other Pokemon that you don't really get why people seem to love so much?

Intidimate, good attack power, and decent typing. Despite rock and electric weakness, resisting fighting and being immune to ground can be a boon in a lot of battle situations.

He's a great sweeper. Learns dragon dance, so can DD when his counter switches out.
Can icefang dragons to death, Aqua tail or waterfall is a solid STAB and also can use taunt for people that try to setup on you.
His stats are also very versatile. You can become a tank for def and sp. def, and when you use dragon dance, boost your speed and attack up so all around a solid pokemon.

look at Drifloon, She has 3 immunities.

And he can't do shit with those three immunities because flare boost means he can't have speed, unburden or choice scarf means he'll do shit for damage without boosts, and while he's boosting, you're incredibly susceptible to being shut down by another ghost type who doesn't need to set up, like Gengar.

Seriously tho, it has great coverage moves, is immune to ground, ressists water, fighting,fire, grass, steel and is only weak to rocks and electric attacks. It's overall a great pokemon + it actually looks cool being a angry seaserpent dragon.

One or two. Gyarodos is capable of beating other four. With DD and Sub or DDs it's capable of beating all six. Coverage Electric move won't ohko defensive or Wacan Gyara. 100 SDef bitch.

Good stat distribution, Moxie and Dragon Dance, and he's a giant fucking sea monster.
Speaking of stat distribution, Gyarados has an edge over the typical DD boosters in the fact that he has good bulk, passable speed, AND power right off the bat.
I don't even like Garydos. Slowking is my favorite Water-type.
