What is her name? Typically, the female protagonist shares the name of the second title. (e.g. Blue, White, Sapphire). So many assume her name is Y. But at the same time, we know that Gen 6 deals with genetics, and Y is the male chromosome. And it wouldn't make much sense to name a female after the male chromosome.

So what is it /vp/, X or Y?

All it is is either a fan name or a manga name. The canon-to-games names have nothing to do with the titles (with some exceptions like Red or Kris). For the most part, it's just up to the community to give her a name to use before the official ones are made/released.

I'm kinda split on whether to give her an X or a Y name. I'm kinda partial to calling her Xena (I know... space princess thing, whatever) and calling the guy Yuri.

But Gen 6 isn't about genetics, Gen 6 is about global connectivity. This is why it's X and Y (like a coordinate grid), and the third version will be Z (which makes the grid 3D)
