Braviary just because he's always been there when I was in a tight spot in the game and I love his overall design and motif

I can't raise the same Pokemon twice. I go absolutely insane if I'm doing the exact same thing I've done already (grinding it until it learns usable moves/evolves), even if I really like that Pokemon.

However, if we're talking competitive use too, I go out of my way to use Parasect.

same here, mein neger, plus having two bros of the same species is kinda awkward?

I'd say though there's been pokémon that I have used multiple times due to switching from emulators to consoles and some I use more often in competitive, I think mostly Blaziken and Empoleon

Yeah, and the sheer variety of size differences on evolution. Just for Unova alone, there's something like Minccino, which is barely bigger on evolution. Then there's, like, Trubbish (which means that Garbodor is now terrifying as well as gross), or Cubchoo and Beartic (waaay bigger size difference to Teddiursa and Ursaring!), or, holy shit, Golett and Golurk...
