I admit, I was a little hateful of the BEST LEGENDARY since Lugia at first. I was like "Why is this Yugi-mon in my game? It looks terrible. Over designed, dragon with spikes that shoot lazors" blah blah blah. Why couldn't I maintain my militant obsession with getting 'second' titles (Blue, Silver, Pearl, etc) AND get a sweet looking legendary! Reshiram looked much more organic, like something that I could look at and declare a plausible Pokemon, not an escaped Digimon.
Then I played through the game. And I caught my Zekrom, like it told me to. I though "Whateve, I'll never use him. I'll just swap him out for Galvantula because he's higher level. I'll box him forever after I fight N."
N was easy enough to deal with, because my bros were by my side. Anna, my Serprior, Hansi, my Zoroark, Neil, my Crookodile, Clay, my Aken (hurr hurr), and Zmey my Haxorus. We beat down the misled pretender to the throne, but we were not prepared... for Hydreigon.
The careful, calculated battling I'd made it to Ghetsis final Pokemon without losing one of mine, though they were all looking a little beaten. "It's only one Pokemon, a dragon even. Zmey has this!" But he was faster, stronger than any of my team. He blew through them as if they were merely paper. All of my Pokemon lay broken and defeated... For the first time I was going to lose.
That's when he stepped in, a proud and powerful dragon with the strength to rival my foes. He went onto the field in a last ditch effort to save my pride. I felt this sense of...sureness as the legend flashed before me.
The battle raged, and it came down to a razor's edge. A lucky crit finally shattered Hydreigon's body, and the dragon did torment no longer.
Since then my Zekrom and I have remained on good terms. He is, more than any legend that came before him, a bro.
