All the effort in Gen4 was in making either cute and thus marketable baby Pokémon like Mime Jr. and Budew, or supremely powerful and thus marketable Legendaries like Giratina and Arceus, or cute and thus marketable Legendaries like Shaymin and Manaphy. Either that or crafting a story that came out awesome in theory but had some real errors in execution. If you're not into any of those things, then yes, you would consider Gen4 a piece of shit.
