There's a big difference between jocks and wannabe jocks.

Idk about you, but there's an awful lot of people in this fanbase who regret even being a part of it in the first place, given the social stigma that comes with being a particularly big fan pokemon.

Unfortunately, some of those people are here on /vp/.

Fairy type will be the last straw, so to speak, for that type of person. And the rest of us who embrace our fandom/don't feel bad about ourselves will rejoice.

Fairy type will be the greatest thing that happened to this franchise since gen III

It's probably not so much the type, but the fact that they're adding it in after so long of no new pokemon types. First and second had new types, then they left it alone, and made new pokemon. Gold/Silver should have been where they stopped making types, we learned all the attacks and weaknesses, we don't want a new type!

Who actually gives a shit about the rest of the fandom? I don't, I play Pokemon because I like it, and come here to talk about it. What other people do with their lives, what social circle they're in, what preferences they have with the games doesn't mean shit to me.

Some people want a fairy type, and that's their choice. I personally don't, but its nothing to do with "OMG GAY FAIRIES R GAY", I simply like the current type chart, and think underpowered types can be buffed in a more beneficial way than simply adding a new type.

TL;DR stop being a faggot.

Nobody's even saying that.
Literally all the tiers are saying is that "more people use X than Y", you can infer that it's because it's weaker, outclassed, or whatever, but tiers are absolutely nothing on the actual power of a Pokemon, it's 100% based on usage, except for banlists, which is simply saying "X is too strong, you can't use it against all these weaker ones because it's unfair" And then you have an entire tier where everything is usable, but nobody wants to play that because of the exact problems Smogon was made to prevent.

Also, I would say a majority of Pokemon are already quite cute and girly, if people had a problem with those - going all the way back to Gen 1 with Clefairy, Jigglypuff, Mew, etc - then they wouldn't play anyway.

its really funny how kids not in the know assume smogon is some board of nerds that bans things on whim when its actually a loose association of nerds that takes forever to ban anything after weeks of discussion + playtesting

there are hundreds of pages for + against Glitch Weather from gen 4, if gen 5 didn't come along they would still be arguing about it
