I was really looking forward to explore the Kanto region. Johto was such a disappointment, and I felt certain that GameFreak would pull their shit together, but no.

Also, I was so pissed at that boring ass champion in Johto. Then I play through the game, only to find him in the Elite Four with even more boring pokes. Fucking Dragonair. At least they could have made him more challenging than last time.

Okay, okay, so the last two gens were generally total shit, but there are som bright spots:

They've scrapped that godawful Fire/Fighting combination on the Fire starters for good, it seems. They've also stopped making your best friend your "rival". It always bugged me how we never saw true rivalry, at least we got that in Silver.

But apart from that, these gens were shit.
