Welp it finally happened. 5 generations later (and 15+ years) I finally have a favorite Grass type. Anyone else experience the same with this gen? How about any that have yet to find a favorite in a specific type?

Also Darumaka. Outside of the Fire starters, I never liked single Fire type.

Gen V introduced a lot of awesome designs. The only fighting I used to like was Hitmonchan, then come Conkeldurr. I didn't liked grass... then Lillygant, Leavanny and Maractus. Bugs? Holy shit don't even talk about bugs and gen 5 I can't even start, all of them are awesome. Scizor was cool, but Scolipede is awesome. Galvantula is god tier pokemon.

I found a lot of new favorites in Gen V. Bugs were starting to grow on me in Gen IV, but it was truly cemented in V with all the amazing bugs that it came with, but mostly due to Leavanny and Galvantula. Also found a new favorite psychic in Sigilyph. And while it's not a type, Archen/Archeops quickly became my favorite fossil of all time. Finally, even though I've loved dragons throughout the generations, Druddigon is just so fucking cool!

It's funny, because I barely had any favorites among Grass pokemon until White/Black came.

And suddenly I had 4-5 favorite Grass pokemon and bug pokemon too. Honestly, Gen 5 had so many awesome pokemon, though one thing that saddened me was that there wasn't any Fire or water pokemon that I personally liked as much in Gen 5.

I have never used Normal-types that much before until a friend coaxed me into using a Porygon-Z and Togekiss.

Togekiss is beastly but I don't have Porygon-Z yet. I've kind of fallen for Porygon2 and don't want to evolve it yet. Is that bad?

I think that's why a lot of people don't use them but I hope Gen VI has more that aren't pseudo-legendaries. Give Fraxure and Druddigon a shot. They aren't that bad especially if Fraxure has Dragon Dance or Druddigon has Rough Skin while holding a Rocky Helmet.

Some of my bros/favorites:
Chandelure, Galvantula, Lilligant, Volcarona, Mienshao, Leavanny, Haxorus, Hydreigon, Braviary, Eelektross, Archeops, Victini, Gigalith, Cincinno, Emolga, Jellicent, Golurk, Genesect and Kyurem.
Also, we went back to less complicated box legendary designs. (Except for BW2)

I fanboy so hard over these games.

I have four types that really don't offer anything I find awesome. Normal, Grass, Electric, Bug.

In Gen V, that changed a little. Sawsbuck became the first Grass (and Normal) type that I liked. Accelgor became the first Bug type that really appealed to me.

Game-wise *and* metagame-wise, glitchy Gen I goes as the worst.
Design-wise, it's actually very subjective. It's alright to choose a favorite and least favorite gen according to taste, but since I already hear your "totally objective" complaints about it, let me summarize your concerns in this pic.
