Well, not necessarily just grass types, it was a huge problem with Unova Pokemon in general.

Tons of Pokemon like Conkeldurr, Stoutland and Escavalier struggled to even fill a moveset until BW2 move tutors.
And even then, Escavalier is still struggling. It just has Megahorn and Iron Head. After relying on Revenge for the sake of power, most people opt for fucking Protect because it's one of the only options it has left.

my favorite grass type tied with breloom
breloom gets so high for being the only pokemon I've ever caught that was good enough to make me box my starter, as well as being the only fighting type in the entire series that I like

I remember seeing somewhere that there was another set that did a little better than the common own tempo + petal dance combo. It actually used liligant's other ability Chlorophyll. I don't remember the set, though

I can never use Roserade because whenever I try to use a Grass/Poison type Vileplume looks at me with those red eyes and I can't abandon it.
But I love Roserade and it's whole evolution line too. Budew has the cutest cry.

- Sleep Powder
- Hidden Power [Rock]

That small addition to HP and Def lets her take at least one hit before starting to attack. The choice you have to make is between HP Fire or Rock, you'll get walled by certain pokemon depending on that, so pick wisely.

Well, the main treats I see on UU are Victini, Darmanitan, Chandelure and other pokemon weak to Rock, which Lilligant can 1HKO with it after one QD, which is really damn easy to get after you get off a Sleep Powder.

Vileplume was my favorite grass time for a long time, since I first got into pokémon.

Cherrim was just too adorable to avoid letting it take it's place, though. But Vileplume will always be a favorite, specially since Poison is also my favorite type.
