It was fun to rematch the NPC trainers who would continually grow stronger in FRLG, it also led to a hilariously easy and fast grinding area against some blackbelts on (I think) either the first or third Island. The one where the hot spring to heal your pokemon was. They were like right in front of it.

I find it easier to make money than going through the E4 constantly. Also good for EV training if a certain trainer uses Pokemon that all have a certain yield.

i'd like hms, they add a bit of challenge to the game, it's not that hard to box one of your main 6 to get by an area; also:
>ghost e4 [the best kind of e4]
>pokemon that are hard to find [like bagon in that one cavern in meteor falls, the 2nd floor of shoal cave, i always liked this about hoenn]
>don't include shitty gen 5 designs in kalos dex [ie garbodor, icecreammon]
>evos for old mons
>2 evil teams or one evil team with a nice plot, keep a nigga in suspense etc
