I think Serebii's attackdex specifically tells you whether or not a move is "affected" by magic bounce.

I'm pretty sure they default to base attack if it's been lowered for Critical Hit calculation, specifically to prevent stalemate situations like the one you created.

if you use trick and get a choice item, you're not locked on since you used the move BEFORE your received the item.

I just often do that because the opponent often switches in that situation. I always love it when I completely shut down half a team just by switching their items around. Bonus points when I get leftovers

If Pokemon A crits on Pokemon B, any stat changes that would hinder Pokemon A are ignored while any that would help Pokemon A are taken into account.

Meaning if Pokemon A is at -6 attack and B is at +6 attack, it's calculated as Pokemon A having +/- 0 Attack and B having +/- 0 Defense. If A is at +6 attack and B is at -6 defense, it's calculated with +6 attack and -6 defense.

Even worse when they forfeit after 1 tiny thing doesn't go their way (see:>>12517026) or when they forfeit literally a single turn before you were going to KO their last pokemon, just to spite you as a way of saying "fuck you, I'm not going to let you have a real win, so I'll just run away instead"
