New to this board so I don't know if this is something that is posted or asked frequently. I'm right now playing Soul Silver, and after I finish I'm going to finish the Platinum that I started a couple years ago.

My question is, when I'm finished should I even get Black or White? Or should I just skip them and get B2 or W2?

I would suggest just skipping it entirely. B/W1 wasn't bad, but it was more linear and very little variation in pokemon in general due to there only being the brand new generation present.

B/W2 pretty much fixes it all, akin to all upgrade versions of the generations.

So in B/W2 you can go back to the previous gen. worlds (Silver/Gold, Ruby/Sapphire Diamond/Platinum)? I don't know gen. #s other than like 1 and 2.

Platinum is the best pokemon game imo, B/W get a bonuspoint for online trading, minus 1 for the possibility of catching Milotic and Feebas in the wild, pretty easy. I think B/W2 would be a waste of money, first buy B or W... Just my opinion :p

No, but there's a lot of Pokémon from gens 1 and 2 for you to catch. If your preference in Pokémon leans towards the older Pokémon, you'll find a lot of your old favorites will be in B2/W2.

For the full experience I recommend starting with Black or White and then moving on to its opposite sequel. The Memory Link feature does indeed make BW2's story seem more complete.
