Butterfree was a bro against Brock and Misty (I chose Charmander); confusion and status inducers were extremely useful during the beginning of the game.
Ariados was rarely much more than fodder at any point. It learned shit moves and Spider Web (which is what I guess was its only good move at the time) is fucking useless in game.
Beautifly was alright. I got so fucking pumped when I first got Silver Wind after 2 generations of no bug moves.
Compared to Gen V starter-bugs, these are all laughable, however.
