>>12543436I'd like to elaborate on this.
>Poison is offensively strong against Grass. This is the type with the most resistances available. (7)
>Poision is defensively strong against Grass, Bug, Poison and FightingGrass: #1 Most Resisted type
(Fire, Grass, Poison, Flying, Bug, Dragon, Steel)Bug: #2 Most Resisted Type
(Fire, Fighting, Poison, Flying, Ghost, Steel) Poison: #3 (tie) Most Resisted Type:
(Poison, Ground, Rock, Ghost, Steel(immune) Fighting: #3 (tie) Most Resisted Type:
(Posion, Flying, Psychic, Bug, Ghost (Immune)They literally only have advantages against the types that have the most disadvantages in a given category (not taht I'll complain about Fighting...). On top of this, look how many double ups between it and other types are on this list.
>Resists Grass and Bug and SE against Grass:Fire (they also share a Ground weakness, Rock resists their moves, and are granted immunity to an HP whittling ability due to their type.)
>Resists Grass, Bug, and Fighting and is SE on GrassFlying, Bug (note that Flying is also SE against Fighting)
>Resists Grass, Bug, and Poison:Steel (they're immune to poison)
Not only is this type weak, its redundant- everything youd want it for, another type does it better. The one and only thing thing that makes Poison a good defensive type is this:
>Neutral to Stealth RocksAlso, for what they're worth defensively, I believe the two poison pokemon that see the most use are Gengar and Toxicroak. What do they have in common? Trash tier defenses, and are great because of their ability and the advantages/moves offered by their other type.
