You might have a Tentacruel and a Victreebel or a Pidgeot and a Charizard, mightn't you?
Especially in some games where there's fuck all of some types yet too many of some.
I had Excadrill, Seismitoad and Krookodile in my Black team and it was surprising balanced, because they have dual types.
If OP was using a Sunflora, Meganium and Bellossom then I'd see your point.
