Why does Gamefreak keep removing all the good features in every Pokemon game?

At some point in Gen 3 and Gen 4 you'd think there are features that should be a staple in every game but they seem to keep removing it for no good reason.

Yeah, agreed. Not being able to grow berries in-game is shit but travelling the whole world for the different soil patches sucks too. The berry pots were a great compromise.

Standard safari zone is scraped. In its place, we have pokemon snap-like safari tours. Works the exact same way as in pokemon snap (you can even take pictures and have them rated) but your main goal is to capture the pokemon. Essentially works the same way; just add a new button for throwing pokeballs. And it'd be fully-3D and on-rails with a free-moving camera, just like in Snap.

C'mon, how awesome would that be? The regular safari zone sucks because it's just RNG bullshit where you're praying that you find a rare pokemon, THEN praying that it doesn't run away, THEN praying that you can manage to catch it.
