Secondly, if you want to ACTUALLY try and judge right from wrong at a high philosophical level, then no pokemon is evil because not only do they act out of their own nature (in the same way that a weasel will steal an egg for nutrients or a lion will kill for food), but also because "evil" is only a fabrication.
As it stands, it's a kids game and isn't trying to get that deep. Also, Darkness is part of what Dark type is meant to be.

But also there's Darkrai, which fades into shadows is a nightmare based pokemon, etc. Umbreon evolves by moonlight and uses darkness to it's advantage. Sableye lives in the dark. Spiritomb is a whirling blob of darkness.
Also, what the hell does color have to do with anything? Not all water types are blue.. In fact, I'm pretty sure none of the types have members who are ALL the color of the type.
