It wouldn't matter how many lions you had, a billion lions can't fly or breathe underwater any better than one.
Pokemon have the power of crowd control, which the lions don't. Again, MOST ground based pokemon would die. Some water based would die, since lions can swim a little.
Things pokemon can do:
-Mind control other animals
-Stop/control time and space
-Create a tsunami
-Create a hurricane
-Create a firestorm
At the end, all that's left will pretty much be ghosts, levitators, and legendaries, but as a group pokemon would clearly be victorious. If you said "no legendaries" I think we'd have a better debate going, but still, the presence of ghosts and levitating pokemon would cause the lions an automatic loss. Gengar and Misdreavus and Drifblim et al could literally just levitate and wait for the lions to die of starvation.
