/vp/, I need your advice.

How exactly do I approach the Pokemon World Tournament? Do I have to bother EV training my team?

Should I follow Smogon's analyses for movesets?

You should EV train, since I'm pretty sure all Pokemon the computers use have perfect IVs and EVs in good stats.
Smogon is for 6v6 so they aren't as effective in 3v3 many of the time. For example entry hazards are a waste of time since the computer rarely switches and there's only 3 Pokemon.

EV training is good. I'd say it's near mandatory.

Smogon's analyses can be a bit much, as they're planned for competitive 6v6, but if you have no idea as to what to do, they do have a nice base to start off from.

Plan out your movesets for maximum coverage. Have setup sweepers. Have a fast sweeper.

You want type diversity on your team so you're not completely screwed when facing the wrong person.

My favorite thing about PWT is trying all the different sets and Pokemon and test as to whether they're viable ingame.

You don't HAVE TO, but this will surely help a lot. Your in-game team hardly will be enough, you'll need really good luck to win with it, but it's possible.
