So since Gamefreak insists on having Red use the non legendary fan favourite Pokemon from Kanto, why not mix it up with some Dream World abilities?

Charizard and Venusaur would make a great sun combo and giving Pikachu lightning rod would be great with smart A.I that's willing to switch.

Also legends like Zapdos are established to have a bunch of siblings so why not have him use one of those, he used the dogs in Stadium 2.
