it is hard to understand if you don't see how it is made.

there are some video guides very useful, like this:

the biggest problem is get exactly which grass you should go next (pic related). with some "try and error" you will learn and can catch a lot of shinies

We actually thought they raised the shiny rate or something.

I haven't gotten any since Gen 3, where I got a Latias, Pidgey, Hariyama and Tentacool.

If I get someone to edit its ability from Vital Spirit to Pick-up, will it get Sand Rush when it evolves or will it just default to intimidate because of other factors? I really want to use him in my team.

I want one so badly. Sorry anon, I've had out of the blue crits on Pokemon that were hard to find before (wild Dragonite in White). Not shiny tier but i wasted so many ultra balls on it and just felt risky. Boom critical hit!

You run into shinies when you least expect it I found. Went back to play Daimond, shiny Wingull on my third wild battle. Shiny Starly after giving up on Pokeradaring one. Etc.

The single legit shiny I own sans Red Gyarados is a Rattata I caught in HeartGold. Don't feel so down, OP, it's not really a big deal.

Hatching them certainly counts, as you've got the same chances, unless you're Masudaing. And even then, you've still only got a 1 in 1000 chance (assuming you've got the Shiny Stone) so it's still something to be happy about.

I've caught a shiny crobot, a shiny buizel, 2 shiny bibarels. I also saw a shiny tentacool, but being a ten year old retard, I just killed it and thought nothing of it. Shiny pokemon are not that great. If you really want one that bad, I suggest a re-evaluation of your priorities
