Its got a super dark and detailed design, its covered in thorns and teeth, its face appears to be spattered with blood, etc. It's a very intense, very frightening design, and I think that it is out of place in the world of pokemon. Even the game's most scary designs have some kind of charm or whimsy to balance them out. Gengar is round and kind of adorable in a malevolent way. Dusknoir has that goofy antenna. This pokemon doesn't have anything like that to balance it out, and is way beyond either of those pokemon in terms of horror-elements in its design.
There's no question in my mind that it out-edges the edgiest pokemon in game (Darkrai, Mewtwo, Spiritomb, Houndoom, and Dusknoir to a lesser extent except for when its abdominal mouth opens up, and then it is terrifying). I think that those pokemon are fine and great, but I think that they are just about as far as they should be pushed in terms of intensity, darkness, frightening-ness, aka "edginess."
And that's why I think this fakemon is too edgy. And I don't throw that around often - I think my threshold for it is pretty high.
