Serious fucking question. I haven't played a pokemon game since emerald (except soul silver)

I just got a DS, i want to get a pokemon game. Which game will offer the most fun?

This black/white shit confuses me, there's a black and white 2 as well apparently?
Should i just go buy soul silver again?

Contrary to what people say, D/P/PL were actually pretty good. The designs weren't all that great, but the region was pretty good. HG/SS were just awesome. They really nailed it with those. B/W were good, but again some of the designs were rubbish.

That's what i was thinking, though perhaps hg/ss first because black/white seem to have like zero fucking legendaries

Black and White were released, then Black 2 and White 2 as sequels. They're in the same region, but some new towns, different pokemon, new gyms, and the story picks up two years after BW.

With that said, I would suggest BW, BW2, and then SS if you want to replay (it is a good game). If you REALLY want, you could try platinum, but I honestly don't enjoy it at all (just a personal opinion). Some pokemon are alright, but I found the starters badly designed, the region badly layed out, the story forced, most of the pokemon dex fillers, the rival was (Again, personal opinion) the most annoying character in the entire series... Just so many things I don't like about the game.

You're literally put into a position where you're unable to advance until you capture the legendary in BW1.
And then in BW2, three legendaries appear right in front of you and just sit there waiting to be captured even before you go on to your final few battles.
