It's already known from people who were at the recording of the smash xy special that there won't be a fairy type.

The 3 new types are Magic, Temporal and Cosmos. Sylveon is Magic type and there will be two other eeveelutions probably based on Temporal and Cosmos.

Don't get me wrong, I love a "magic" type, and I've wanted "cosmic" for ages. Starmie, lunatone, solrock, clefairy, deoxys, jirachi, could all get it. But temporal? No way.

I keep hearing this.
The last time new types were added how many pokemon had a type change?
A grand total of one evolution line was made into a duel type with electric steel and NO pre-existing pokemon were changed to dark type.

With up to 150 new pokemon to add into the game (or more if Game Freak want to it's their game) they can make as many new pokemon as they want with temporal, magic or cosmos typings and based on past evidence that is their preferred way of adding new types only changing an existing pokemons type unless it is absolutely necessary as they know fans will complain about it if they do.

For the record I think magic cosmos and temporal types are probably legit and it would seem I'm not alone in that. Where is your fairy god now?

Even though I'm doubting that Echo/Sound type will be added, given the moves/Pokemon that have sound properties it would make sense just to give them their own type instead of some random type that are generally unaffected by type resistances anyway.
