If you can't convince him, there are a few ways around it, they just kind of suck out loud. Red Card, Yawn, and Nasty Plot/Swift come to mind, all of which are pretty damn gimmicky. I'd say just don't play against him, or wreck him with his dumbass strat and show him how un-fun it is to play against.

Haze resets Evasion, and other stats boost/debuff aswell.
But yeah it's a strategy that sucks because you need some turns to set up to be viable and it's pretty much luck reliable.

Evasion isn't banned because it makes people lose.
