The roundtable is going to be developers talking, unaired, about the game. They will have certain media there to report and ask questions, as well as Pokemon will be updating all details on their twitter, but we as a general fanbase cannot watch.

A Nintendo Direct is shown on the Nintendo website. Sometimes it's pre-recorded (like the initial XY announcement), but this one will be live coverage of the entire E3.

Conference most likely refers to Nintendo's specific part in the entire event (aka, what they will be broadcasting on direct). When they hold a conference, they're showcasing something to the public.

Nintendo is one of those companies that those who are loyal to it will always be loyal to it. People may have other consoles, but Nintendo doesn't have to 'wow' people to be successful like Sony and Microsoft. There generally is something for everyone from Nintendo, which means that they don't have one particular audience. E3 is generally for more dedicated gamers, while Nintendo attracts more casual gamers, who will constantly buy their products.

Smash Bros. is Nintendo's trump card for console gaming.

People have bought Nintendo consoles just for a Smash Bros. title. It is a massive draw to a system one might not be interested in.

It all depends on how the play that trump card. If Sakurai whiffs it even slightly, Sony is going to be on top this generation.

I'll cite myself. I'm not really interested in the Wii U, as it just doesn't seem to have that much over the Wii I already have, and rarely play. However, if Sakurai makes the right choices with Smash Bros. 4, I might just buy it and a Wii U.

Okay, so you know theres been a lot of talk about MS's anti-consumer policies regarding the xbone, right? It requires a constant connection or a check-in every 24 hours, it doesn't allow used games or only allows them if you pay a supplemental fee, the kinetic always watching you and gathering data that gets sent to MS, etc. We're not really sure of the specifics, but MS has bee extremely slippery regarding the entire deal. And then they completely try to talk around the issue at their E3 conference.

And then the sony guys just straight up say "oh yeah, you can play used/borrowed games no problem at all and you don't need to ever connect online if you don't want to." It was a huge FUCK YOU to MS and it was well timed and well deserved.

I'm just waiting to see what MS's response is going to be. Surely they're going into damage control mode now.

They sort of did though. Before it was known as the TV and Sports system with awful player treatment. Now it's got a few games backing it up and some people would actually look to purchase it.

If Sony didn't both do great with those huge name reveals AND THEN rip them a new asshole by insulting them directly, Xbox One probably would've somehow ended up winning E3. Especially since the first part of Sony's thing was a 20 minute delay, followed by nogames, and then going straight into Televsion Entertainment and Social Media. We're just lucky all they did was do that to get it out of the way.

Sony really impressed me. I'll probably get a PS4 now. But I really didn't think Microsoft did bad either. Everyone seems to be crying over them but they did better than EA and Ubisoft. I won't get an Xbomb but I am jelly of Dead Rising 3.

If we get some awesome pokemon details tomorrow then I'm set. Day 1 and it's already the best E3 in ages.

But then they came out with MGSV, Killer Instinct, Crimson Dragon, Witcher 3, Dead Rising 3 and all this shit that actually makes it look like it isn't a terrible multimedia device with nothing but shooters and casual nonsense. Like Gen 7 for the first three or so years.

Showing off enough good games rather than how fast you can switch away from Netflix certainly made some people look the other way from all of the terrible 1984 nonsense.

This is because Nintendo has miraculously avoided the moral ambiguity that typically plagues multinational corporations.

Disney, Apple, Sony, Microsoft, EA.

Each stirs up thoughts of a public image that hides shady conflict.

But Nintendo? I might disagree with them occasionally pandering to the capricious casual market. I might disagree with their gimmicks. I might disagree with their design choices for their consoles.

But I think I will always like Nintendo. Nintendo gives us a public image that they like making games, and that profit is earned. Pokemon is one of their biggest cash cows, they milk it for all its worth, and yet I feel Game Freak really puts its soul into each entry, even if I think it has wandered away the charm I grew up with.

I have one and it's brillient, the only problem is the slow pace of games release, which is changing now.

The graphics are fantastic on it, a huge step up from the wii and the touch pad... Wow. I want to play all my games with this controller, another plus is being able to play games on it while other people are watching the TV. It's worth buying a WiiU for ZombiU alone but it improved Assassins Creed III so much that it is by far the definitive version of the game.

Well, except for the fact that you still have to pay to play online. Ps3's online was shitty, xbox360's was definitely better. But I still don't understand why we have to pay to go online. I think Smash Bros. is going to be a part of all this hype.

It's been a long time since I was the target demographic for Pokemon. I just hope the Pokemon kids of today like Mewtwo as much as I did, though they will likely never know him as the vengeful Frankenstein-esque villain I was so impressed by.

They did a thing in their presentation about how to share games on the PS4. Literally involved one dude handing a game over to another dude. Basically everything they announced countered xbone hardcore, like no DRM, open sharing of games, support of indie developers, and an actually decently low price for a new Playstation. I dislike Sony due to... a lot of reasons, but I'm still impressed.

Not really, they just didn't go full retard liek microshit went.
People playing PS4 can still buy used games and borrow games normally. And to play it you don't need to be permanently connected. Plus, the price is 400 dollars/euros instead of 500.
But that's the only thing they have as an advantage. You still need to pay to play online every month, and the price is similar to the xbox live thing. They've shown lots of games, but the ones that aren't shitty and most hyped everyone (KH3 and FF15) aren't exclusive, and are probably gonna be available for Xbone and WiiU.

With this, nintendo can probably pull some tricks and get loads of sales this year. And PC remains as the "mustard race".

Advantages are correct.
You have to pay for online via psn+, but it's 5 Dollars per month which is I think less than half of what xbox live costs. Also you get free games with it, so yay.
And exclusive/not exclusive doesn't really matter since I won't buy more than 1 console anyway, so anything not on PC is exclusive.
