OP here, what I meant by these guys is that I'm surprised they chose these guys to be the first officially retconned, I know there's more I was just expecting Clefairy over Jigglypuff & Togepi over Marill to be first.

they also might have gone with type variety. i'm sure a lot of normal types will be changed, jigglypuff being the most popular of them...so they threw in a psychic type and a water type for balance. (also popular pokemon)

I don't think they will CHANGE types.
They'll only add Fairy typing to some mono-types. Meaning that Togekiss and Celebi will keep their current typing
