I feel like he just got a demo build of it (used to make some of those trailers) and jumped to conclusions rather than anything else. All of the old Pokemon who gain the Fairy type will become dual type.

Gardevoir - Psychic/Fairy
Marril - Water/Fairy
Mawile - Steel/Fairy

I doubt they'll change the type on any dual-types to Fairy. Magnemite and Magneton only gained the Steel subtype.

they only changed them because if you changed the typing on them back when those forms were first released, they'd fuck up the diamond and pearl games that didn't have those forms available. the only time they will change dual typing is if one of those types is a normal type (i.e. togetic/togekiss)

You guys are completely missing the point this guy is trying to make.
He's saying no pokemon with two types has ever had one of their two types changed between games.
There have been single type pokemon that have had another type added and there have been unique pokemon with the ability to change their forms through in game interactions but there has never been a pokemon with 2 types whose type has changed between games.

My Rotom-W is Electric/Ghost in gen 4 but when I transfer it to gen 5 it's suddenly Ghost/Electric for no reason. That isn't form changing, that's retyping by changing the generation. The problem is people saying that that's a sign that in Gen VI dual-type Pokemon will become Fairy and it replaces one of the Types, which doesn't make sense because when Rotom ISN'T possessing anything he's Electric/Ghost, but when he IS possessing something he's Electric/Water, Electric/Ice, Electric/Fire, etc. Those are FORME CHANGES and don't mean that Pokemon who never change Formes will have a type replaced with Fairy.

As far as I can tell, only pure-Type old Pokemon will be affected, and they'll gain Fairy as a subtype.

That's not the same as Togekiss suddenly poofing from Normal/Flying to Fairy/Flying. The likeliest event is that only pure-type older Pokemon gain a Fairy subtype, and that's corroborated by the site itself saying that Gardevoir is now Psychic/Fairy, Marril is now Water/Fairy, etc.

What you continue to fail to understand is that Rotom only changes a Type when he changes a Forme. His normal self didn't change between gen 4 and Gen 5. Formes are different from a Pokemon getting a Type change out of nowhere between generations, especially when it's a zappy poltergeist possessing machines and gaining their attributes.

They came up with a type that translates to gameplay what was already an existent theme in the designs of many old pokemon. Imagine if they hadn't changed magneton's typing. I think Azuril will just be fairy flat out.

Changing the psychic "fairies" would be an all or none I think It'd be a big change to the meta.

I'd love for Lumineon to get fairy type. May help her. (She's my fav gen4).
