That would be shit. Since there are at least 20 Pokemon from old generations in Kalos, this will be the smallest generation yet. It probably means that there are 113 new Pokemon, but the actual regional dex will have 140-150 Pokemon all together.

The designs of each generation is really starting to feel "samey". You know. Like each generation of Pokemon all had their own general aesthetic that unified them in their respective region. But as more generations come out, it's starting to lose that uniqueness. But I guess it can't be helped.

Obviously a good one. Had no previous gens to compare it to and launched an incredible franchise.
>Gen II
Celebrated Gen I by incorporating it into the game. Made an effort to balance the game with additional types.
>Gen III
Fairly meh. Took some risks, but some Pokemon were forgettable. Beginning of overdesigned Pokemon (Rayquaza, for example). Not my personal favorite. Region was pretty cool.
>Gen IV
Put a lot of effort into making a very engrossing game with developed background characters (the gym leaders were almost always out of their gyms at some point or part of the overall plot outside of gym battles). Pretty cool starter typing. Best features were WiFi and the Poketch.
>Gen V
Seemed phoned-in. Tried to recreate the success of Gen I, but was awkward. Weird region. A lot of forgettable Pokemon. Dream World was dumb. Triple battles were pretty dumb.
>Gen VI

Rayquaza IS overdesigned. It doesn't mean it's a bad design or a bad Pokemon.

Additionally, the designs get more complex the more the games allow the complexity. It's just jarring to see sometimes.

I love almost all of these.

The only one I'm kind of iffy about is Helioptile, and that's just because of his silly face. I'm pretty sure it'll evolve into something pretty cool, though.

If the designs keep on like this and the gameplay is really good, I can honestly say this may be my favorite gen and finally kick gen 1 out of that position.

I like all of the starters so far, but I feel like Fennekin's final form is going to be somewhat generic. I have high hopes for Chespin turning into something badass.

X-deer is pretty cool, but i'm not a fan of its antlers. Y-wyvern looks like some sort of mix between Kyogre and Groudon, but I still like him. would catch.

I love Skrelp's face/eyes. he looks like he's half-dead and hates his life.

overall I'm liking this gen's pokes. haven't seen any that I really dislike yet.
