How would you react if Gamefreak decided to change Gyarados and Charizard to Water/Dragon and Fire/Dragon respectively since they now feel Dragon type has enough weaknesses to be less overpowered and rare?

Yes I know overused suggestion but I'm genuinely curious given the circumstances.

Gyarados, no. The whole story about Gyarados is that he is NOT a dragon. It's an ancient Chinese story of a fish that becomes an almost-dragon.

Wouldn't they have to change Charizard's ability to Levitate? I don't think gamefreak would make a starter without blaze as its normal ability.

Would be cool though.

well since they seem to have implimented a new mechanic that eliminates the need for levitate if your pokes have wings i guess only a type change is viable.

In a recent video it shows Charizard and Flygon in a sky battle, and he is a dragon/ground type so I think dragon pokemon can be in sky battles which makes it so that Charizard could be a dragon type.
