I don't mind the fairy type.

What I am going to mind is if they don't rebalance the rest of the chart. Poison is getting better because of its strength against fairy, but ice and grass also desperately need help.

Plus, I really don't get the hate on fairy type, its a cool type, and useless pokemons are getting fairie'd so they actually do something (Im guessing they'll be more than a few).

Also buffing poison and steel moves if fairies are actualyl weak to them. (who the hell uses those types on pokemon that are different types anyways).

Ice needs some resistances, or at the very very least, fewer weaknesses.

Grass needs to be made better offensively - too many types resist it. Its not a great defensive type, either, but its real weakness in my opinion is that a grass STAB is worthless.

Poison would probably be adequately balanced by making it strong against fairy and neutral against ghost, though I'm actually thinking that being neutral against ground would make more sense.

And of course, if all these changes were made, types that were subsequently effected would probably need to be shuffled around just a bit, too.

I think grass only needs to have common dual-stabs to be less shitty. Grass/Poison just doesn't work without Hp fire, which is unfortunate for such a common pairing.

I think fighting would survive if Ice lost the weakness to it. Hail and stab ice beams are awesome, but between stealth rock and that shitty defensive typing I think they could use a little something.

That's the whole point of the Fairy type.

In the Q&A session they were asked why Fairy was being introduced and they stated it was because Dragon was OP.

I don't really care about "balancing out" any types or if fairy will wreck the metagame for a while since the metagame will just change and evolve to accompany it.
I am excited about them actually adding something completely different to a what is becoming an old formula though.

Steels can switch in and tank nearly every goddamn type in the current type chart effectively.
