There is no denial. The only reason people believe there's a second eeveelution is because of patterns. It would've never been suggested otherwise as there's no evidence for it.

In order to hype the new type. Another eeveelution is a reason to get asses in the seats for the movie, the EXACT reason that most people assumed we wouldn't know the type until the movie. From a marketing perspective, it makes perfect sense for that eevee in the short to evolve into dragon or (my hope) poison.

Two generations of eeveelutions being introduced in pairs is NOT a pattern.

I don't think you seem to understand that something happening twice in a row doesn't automatically make it a pattern.

It actually looks like they're attempting to leave their "My First RPG" name and try to make a real RPG requiring a lot of thought and skill to actually get through.

If that is the case, and I do hope it is, then they give absolutely zero fucks about those 12 year olds. They're already anticipating losing some business in the form of casuals, but gaining it with the people who left after Gen 4 return.

Every eeveelution is bases on the archaic special type (even after (or in the same gen) the moves split) Dragon was the only special type that rest (and that it is a pattern accepted by nintendo.

So if we add this to the two eeveelution on pair gen "no" pattern the chances of a dragon eeveelution is bigger...
Fairy is an interesting case, that it was made to look like an special type (magic)

GF uses the patterns a lot on their games, because that a lot of us fell for B2&W2, because they broke one of their pattern (seriously, I was expecting Grey version)
It can be broken again, but i doubt it.
I was expecting a new type, just for the dragon Eeveelution, I wasn´t dissapointed...
