I think it took me 600 to 700 SR for a Charmander in Heart Gold. I don't know if that's accurate because I wasn't keep tracking, but I did calculate how fast it took me to SR and estimated how long I'd been doing it.

took me about 10 days to SR for a charmander in FR.

I estimate it was about 5000 SR's. I'm on hiatus from SR'ing for an Eevee now in the same save file, probably looking at about 7000 right now

And OP wasn't bitching about it, I was the same way when I started off trying to get a Charmander. One night decided to go back to the grind and boom there it was! I almost woke my roommate up because I was so excited.

Oh i also did it on soul silver for any shiny starter... It was a chikorita or however you spell that, after about 17 tries. It was male though, i named him duke.... Kind of cool i guess

well, when I first started I was assuming I'd go with Vaporeon, but if Sylveon's shiny is even better, I might transfer a silver Eevee through a whole shitload of generations (assuming 5->6 transferring is possible)

I tried for three months. Every day before bed I'd pick up my GBA, keep trying for a fucking shiny squirtle for an hour before I slept.

I finally got it.

The cartridge was bumped because I had switched to my DS.

It froze.

I have never seen a shiny since, and never before.

My heart also froze on that day.

No, there's been rewards for completing the National Dex before but Black 2/White 2 is the first to have the Shiny Charm rewards let alone it as an item. In fact I think the only rewards you get in the other games is just a certificate, which is also in Black 2/White 2.

At 160ish Pokemon so far in Black 2, I'm trying to get as many as I can in game before I start transferring over. I haven't even beaten the Elite Four yet.
