Fire/Normal? Really? They couldn't make it pure Fire? The design is OK (it looks like Lil Bub) but the typing is odd. And "War Cry" is just Growl, so why is it needed?

Do you guys think it's going to have a split-gender evolution? With the male having a mane made out of fire?

Somehow, even though I like the shrimp, the kelp, and the goat way better, this design has me the most curious about its evolutions. I feel like it will be a three-stager, though don't quote me on that.

Do you guys think it's weird the helio is Electric/Normal instead of Normal/Electric? I know that doesn't make a difference mechanically, but I thought it was weird that they reversed it after all these years.

The difference is that Deerling is Normal/Grass, while this one is Fire/Normal. The secondary typing is the one that COULD change, not saying it will though.

It has a pathetic offensive presence (when was the last time you seen a Heatran using Flash Cannon?), and all three types it is weak to are some of the most commom.

It's a top tier typing, but not broken. You can't pick teams apart with a Steel-type

I'll just play with some of the pokemon whose designs I like that I haven't gotten to use in a team yet and revel in the glorious 3D. Plus Kalos looks intriguing as shit.

Don't get me wrong, if there's a pokemon that catches my eye I will give it a whirl. Just trying to make the point that even those of us who aren't keen on the newer designs can still enjoy the living fuck out of the new games.

For some reason there seems to be this oldfag attitude that disliking the new pokemon=disliking the new game. There's so much amazing-looking shit in this game that I don't see why anyone would think that.

Maybe I'm taking it too far, but when gardevoir used a fairy-type move on Hydreigon in the trialer, it did about 60-70% damage. I think if fairy was super effective against dark, the quadruple effectiveness would have OHKO'd. Right?

I think they're putting Normal there so that it has the ability to lose its typing to another one
for example, Fletchling was Normal/Flying and Talonflame is Fire/Flying which is something we haven't seen in native bird pokemon

Also, Helioptile is Electric/Normal so they will more or less lose that typing
