With the announcement of Fairy type, I just CANNOT understand why people were so against the idea or stupid enough to completely disregard a new type in general.

The fact that the type of Sylveon was a secret was a big hintaroo to begin with. The fact it didn't look like any other type was another big hint.

Yet people were adamant it wasn't going to be a new type. Why? Surely the sensible thing was to not disregard a new type, but still play around with the idea it could be an existing type?
