I'd have to image that most of them will be "Cute" sort of Pokemon. Don't get me wrong, i have NOTHING against Fairy type, but when it comes down to it, marketing strategy would have played a large part in GF's decision to add Fairy type.
If they had wanted a "badass" type, they could have quite easily added something different, (sound, light magic, take your pick) But by adding fairy type, it allows them to target pokemon to a different audience (Namely, young girls) who normally may not be super interested in pretend monsters fighting eachother.
Let me re-iterate though, i AM NOT hating on fairy type in any way, i'm just saying that making cute fairy pokemon rather than Grim style fairies, would make more sense from a marketing point of view.
