Just compare this with how Gen 4's evo spam was foreshadowed by most of the pre-release Pokemon being related to old ones. This gen seems to be shaping up to ignore the majority of old Pokemon beyond Fairy retcons.

I kind of like the idea of introducing evos to fossil mons, that drop the rock type and gain steel. Explain it having to do with exposure to some mechanic altering the prehistoric genetics and modernizing an ancient mon.

I'd mostly like to see Water/Steel Kabutops and Omastar evos. Or alternate Kabuto/Omanyte evos.

Farfetch'd can be considered a dual pun. On one hand he's useless because he's a duck walking to his own death just like the Trainer trading a Spearow for weak old Farfetch'd. But if we give it an evolution, we can take the other meaning how convenient it is that it evolved into an awesome Pokemon.

With so many people infuriated over the last major batch of cross generational evolutions that came along with IV gen, I don't think GameFreak will be going out of their way to perform similar move in a game intended to mark a new era for pokemon franchise.

fairy/dragon evo or alternate evo for the swablu/altaria line

On the other hand, I hope they don't overdo it with the whole "new evolutions to old pokemon" thing like they did in Gen 4. Half the new pokemon weren't even available in D/P because it required you to import pokemon only available in Gen 3 games, or they weren't available until after the main game and you got the national dex. Why add new pokemon when you can't even obtain/use them under normal circumstances? Meanwhile, bidoof tentacool and zubat make up 99% of encounters

emphasis on that ugly piece of shit rhyperior. goddamn I hate that thing. Rhydon did NOT need an evolution; especially considering all the pokemon that were in the NU gutter during the time of Gen 4's development, while Rhydon was BL and a solid contender in OU. Same applies to dusclops, although not as extreme an example (the evolution should've gone to banette, who actually needed it)

There is a lot of pokemon that needs evolution because their stats are just too low. I mean sure there should stronger and weaker pokemon but all should be able to reach at least a useable level of power. Most likely will happen eventually, let's just hope soon.
