One thing I noticed, Vivillon has more fanart in Japan while Noivern has more fanart coming from the West. I wonder if it's about the taste or something.

Personally I prefer the butterfly more but that's because I am an edgy cynical hipster who hates cool things that are intentionally cool.

Basically once again Pokemon is appealing to a wide audience of fans with different designs. Can't complain really.

A butterfly wouldn't be fluffy. Specially one that is pixel themed.
Now, Larvesta, on the other hand, is a great example of a cute and fluffy bug.

My favorites are Crobat and Volcarona, so yeah. I can't exactly pick between a cute butterfly and a cute bat dragon.
