>>12670191But Trunko is like "unheard of in crytozoology circles" obscure.
>>12670208Trunko was a mysterious creature that appeared off the coast of South Africa decades ago. The crowds of people that watched it fight off two killer whales for about an hour described it as a white, fur covered whale, with small black eyes, an elephant like trunk, tiny flippers, no mouth, and a lobster like tail. After it "lost" it washed up onto the beach, remained there for three days, and somehow managed to get itself back into the ocean.
Similar creatures that have been passed off as globsters elsewhere have been seen with elephant like tusks, and Tullymonstrium type creatures - which were tiny compared to Trunko - have been discovered frozen in lakes under the ice of Antarctica.
Given a few million years, no human interruption, and the size of most creatures found in the depths of the ocean, I wouldn't be all that surprised if they managed to grow to the size of whales.
TL;DR - It's an elephant fish.
